About Bronx High School of Science

The Bronx High School of Science holds a unique distinction: no secondary school in the world has produced more Nobel Prize winners. Eight Bronx Science alumni have won the Nobel Prize, spanning physics, chemistry, and medicine. Founded in 1938 in the northwest Bronx, the school enrolls approximately 3,000 students across grades 9–12. Bronx Science offers a research-intensive curriculum with advanced coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science, including partnerships with nearby institutions like Fordham University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The school has also produced seven Westinghouse Science Talent Search winners and dozens of Intel/Regeneron finalists.
